Micro-Housing in Santa Ana

In partnership with THRIVE Santa Ana, this proposal aims to jumpstart a series of micro-housing developments on city-owned parcels along Bristol Street in Santa Ana. The parcel offers twelve micro-home units for independent living, along with an office and areas for urban farming, all of which were explicitly requested by THRIVE Santa Ana and Santa Ana community members.

THRIVE Santa Ana is concerned with the lack of deeply affordable housing in the area, defined as housing for individuals and families who lack access to traditional affordable housing. These are individuals and families whose income is much lower than that required to afford ‘affordable’ housing, or who may be on the waiting list for affordable housing, whose immigration status may disallow them from accessing affordable housing, or who lack the legal and language means to access affordable housing.
