This dwelling replaces one that burned during the 2017 wildfires in Ventura County of Southern California. A graywater recycling system moves water to a constructed wetland which, in turn, feeds an infiltration swale. The living space is minimized, and the two courtyards, each defined by a different tectonic experience, provide the outdoor spaces that welcome both plants and fires.
